Why this exists

Your music deserves one home.

One thought has been stuck in my head lately: there is no place on your phone that has a reference to all of your music.

That is the problem. Music used to have a home. Our parents had shelves, binders, CD towers, scratched jewel cases, and a physical catalog of the songs that made them who they were. It was imperfect, but it was theirs.

We got infinite access and somehow lost the library. Your favorite songs now live behind different doors: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, links from friends, playlists, screenshots, and memories you cannot search for when you need them. The music is everywhere. The reference to your music is nowhere.

TrackGenius is my attempt to build that reference. TrackGenius is not trying to replace Spotify or Apple Music. It is trying to organize your music across all of them: an index of the songs, playlists, and moments that matter to you, no matter where they came from or where they play.

Some songs start on Spotify. Some on Apple Music. Some on YouTube. Some from a friend who just knew. Who cares? It is your music.

The ambition is simple and massive: one home for your music. A place that remembers what moved you, lets you share it without making someone use your app, and helps every song find the right door on the other side.

Maybe it is early. Maybe it is obvious only to the people who feel the mess every day. That is okay. If enough people want a single home for their music badly enough, TrackGenius will not feel like a feature. It will feel like the missing layer the phone should have had all along.

Our Promise: You do not need an account to use the core sharing flow. TrackGenius does not run ads, sell personal information, or use third-party ad tracking. We keep the data needed to make links, playlists, and basic anonymous product signals work, and the default experience should feel useful without forcing you to log in first.

Trust matters here. A wrong destination breaks the feeling immediately, so TrackGenius will keep getting better at knowing when to open, when to search, and when to stay quiet.

Our parents had a music collection. We have subscriptions. TrackGenius is our attempt to give people their collection back.
