TrackGenius

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Overview

TrackGenius helps people publish and open music links across music services. This policy explains what information TrackGenius collects, how it is used, and how to contact us about it.

Information You Provide

When you create a shared music link or publish a profile, TrackGenius may store the information needed to make that link or profile work. This can include song titles, artist names, source music URLs, generated TrackGenius URLs, profile handles, display names, bios, playlist names, and the songs listed on public playlists.

If you use Sign in with Apple to restore a published profile, TrackGenius stores Apple's stable app-specific user identifier for profile recovery. TrackGenius does not use email as the account key for profile recovery.

Published profiles and shared links are public by design. Anyone with the URL may be able to view the information shown on that page.

Usage Data

TrackGenius uses simple first-party analytics to understand basic site usage, such as page views, unique browser sessions, shared-link opens, profile views, link creation counts, and whether someone continues to a music platform. TrackGenius may set a first-party session cookie named tg_session and store a random anonymous visitor identifier named tg_visitor_id in browser local storage for this purpose.

TrackGenius may classify traffic source, country code, device category, and browser category to understand product performance. TrackGenius does not store IP addresses, raw user-agent strings, or raw referrer URLs in analytics.

For web-created links, TrackGenius may store the page referrer, UTM parameters, anonymous browser identifier, session identifier, device category, and preferred music platform with the private link record to help preserve link history and recommendations. Public pages and APIs do not expose those values.

The TrackGenius app may send a random anonymous sharing identifier with created links so TrackGenius can show aggregate recommendations such as songs commonly shared by the same anonymous or known sharer. Public pages and APIs do not expose that identifier.

TrackGenius does not use advertising cookies, sell personal information, or run third-party ad tracking on the TrackGenius website.

How Information Is Used

  • To create and display shared music links.
  • To publish and display public profiles and playlists when requested from the app.

Third-Party Services

TrackGenius links may open third-party music services such as Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, or YouTube. Those services are operated by their own companies and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

TrackGenius keeps shared links, public profiles, and basic usage data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain reliability, and support the app. You can request profile deletion or other privacy help through Contact Us.
